Lisa Jackel is an artist from the small
village of Rurich in Germany. The village is located near the river Rur. I have had the pleasure of walking along side the
river there and witnessing the picturesque landscape with its breathtaking views! The population is about 800 people and it
is located in Western Germany near the Netherlands in the Northrhine Westfalia region.
Lisa is multi talented in the area of
the arts, not only does she enjoy painting and drawing, but she has been active in music and theater.
Lisa is currently receiving singing
instruction from an American instructor from Pennsylvania who studied classical voice and piano.
While talking with Lisa about her experience
in the arts she noted “ I was in charge of a musical working group, and we performed the musical Spamalot
by Monty Python”. She added that organizing the the musical was great fun, very hard work, but the end result was really
great! Although I was unable to attend the performance, I was excited to see the performance on DVD and I have to say, I was
really engrossed in the entire performance and also very impressed with the talents that Lisa and her fellow performers displayed.
Lisa's role in this impressive performance
was that of “The Lady of The Lake” the female lead role and her musical abilities did shine as witnessed in her
amazing voice.
Lisa started to explore her interest
in painting and drawing at a very young age, and has improved her techniques through self study and practice.
Singing became a part of her life
at the age of 14 and later became active in a few bands. Lisa started formal singing lessons in 2008.
The artwork of Thomas Kinkade inspires
Lisa, as she is impressed with his use of light and highlights in his work.
Lisa is attending RWTH Aachen University
where her area of study in the German and English languages has encouraged her into the direction of teaching. Lisa hopes
to accomplish a semester study through her University in the U.S, she hopes to find inspiration for her work in a different
landscape and environment.
It has been a pleasure for me to
know Lisa, she has an energetic and artistic nature, she is expressive and caring and I have never found myself to be at a
loss for words in our conversations. I have enjoyed her artwork firsthand and have witnessed her musical and theatrical talents.
I was very happy when she agreed to be
featured on my site. Lisa just celebrated her 20th birthday, she has a bright and exciting future and I am happy
to have the privilege of knowing her.
